“Practical Performance Profiling: Improving the efficiency of .NET code” is another free eBook from Simple Talk Publishing. In Practical Performance Profiling, Jean-Philippe Gouigoux provides both the theory and practical skills necessary to analyze and improve the performance of .NET code.
This book does not explain in depth how .NET works. It will not take the reader up the grueling slopes of algorithm tuning. It simply deals with the 20% of defects in the code that account for 80% of performance loss. Generally, no software is fully optimized. Doing so is theoretically impossible and, most of all, absurd from a commercial point.
